# Maputo Bridge Capital (MBC) > Maputo Bridge Capital, founded by Anselmo Boaventura in Fort Worth, Texas, connects US sponsors with verified smallholder farmers in Mozambique. Sponsors fund a farmer's season from $25 (one-time or monthly). The money goes directly to the farmer's local seed and fertilizer shop, and the sponsor receives the receipt and field photos. After harvest, farmers repay into a Community Fund that sponsors the next farmer. 92% goes to the farmer's local seed and fertilizer shop. 8% covers field verification visits and receipt documentation. Sponsorships are gifts, not investments, and are not tax-deductible. MBC works with the COJAZ cooperative in Zambézia. ## Key pages - https://maputobridgecapital.com/ebooks/nature-of-the-harvest : ebook "The Nature of the Harvest: Agriculture as the Engine of Wealth" by Anselmo Boaventura (October 2026, 48 pages, $19.99; $5 per copy buys seed for a Mozambican farmer).
