Cashew Processing Facility

What they do: Processes raw cashew nuts into export-grade kernels for the US and European markets.
Why we invested: Mozambique is Africa's second-largest cashew producer. Processing capacity is the bottleneck — raw nuts leave at $0.50/kg and return as kernels at $8/kg. This facility captures that 16x value gap locally.
Impact so far: Direct jobs created, smallholder farmers supplying nuts, women employees, export revenue in first year.
Women's Vegetable Cooperative

What they do: 40-woman cooperative growing and processing vegetables (tomatoes, onions, cabbage) for Maputo city markets.
Why we invested: Women produce 70%+ of Mozambique's food but earn a fraction of what they could. This cooperative model captures value at the producer level.
Impact so far: 40 women members (growing to 60), average income increase: 3x, supplies 3 markets in Maputo, added cassava flour processing line.
Solar Irrigation Project

What they do: Solar-powered drip irrigation system serving 25 smallholder farming families, enabling year-round cultivation.
Why we invested: Climate change is the biggest threat to Mozambican agriculture. Solar irrigation enables year-round farming, reduces emissions, and increases yields by 2-3x.
Impact so far: 25 families served (175 people), crop yields increased 2.5x, farming season extended from 4 to 12 months, zero diesel costs.
