The Founder's Story
I am Mozambican. I relocated to the United States in 2011 with a foreign bachelor's degree in law and an entrepreneur's drive. What I brought with me was a question I could not stop asking:
"How can a country operate under a government, and instead of generating wealth, grow poverty, unemployment, and informality?"
I could not comprehend it. Mozambique is rich in land, resources, and hardworking people. Yet poverty grows. I needed to understand why.
While studying why some countries are very rich, I came to understand the importance of innovation, markets, private property, and the private sector. The countries that build wealth do not do it through government programs. They do it through enterprise — by creating markets where none existed, by giving people the tools to build buyer power and networks.
No person in Africa should be poor. That is my belief. The people of Mozambique deserve dignity. One of the most powerful ways to give them dignity is through business — not charity that creates dependence, but enterprise that creates independence.
That is why I created Maputo Bridge Capital. The goal is to use innovation and technology to create markets that help the people of Mozambique build networks and buyer power. We connect global capital to Mozambican farmers — not to extract, but to elevate.

How do farmers repay?+
Repayment is harvest-aligned. Farmers repay after harvest, when they have income from selling crops. M-Pesa disbursements and repayments happen in seconds — no cash, no bank visits required.
What happens if a harvest fails?+
We use crop insurance with satellite-verified parametric triggers. If rainfall falls below the trigger threshold, automatic payouts are issued via mobile money. We also diversify across farmers, crops, and provinces.
