Sponsor a Farmer Together

A giving project small enough for any group to finish. Together you sponsor one farmer in Mozambique for one planting season, and you all see the receipt for what your money bought.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose one farmer together

Look through the verified farmer profiles as a group and pick one. One farmer, one season, one clear goal.

  2. 2

    Collect $150

That covers one farmer's seeds, fertilizer, and tools for a season. One person collects the money and makes a single sponsorship for the group.

  3. 3

    We pay the seed shop

The farmer's local seed and fertilizer shop is paid directly. The money is not handed over as cash.

  4. 4

Share the receipt with your group

You receive the receipt from the seed shop, photos from the field, and a message from the farmer. Show them to the whole group, then follow the season through to the harvest update.

How $150 divides

One farmer's season costs $150. Split across a group, it is a small amount each.

Words you can read to your group

"In Mozambique, most families farm, and many cannot afford good seed and fertilizer when planting time comes. We have a chance to help one of those farmers this season. Together we would give $150. That money goes to the farmer's local seed shop, not as cash, and we get the receipt showing exactly what was bought, along with photos from the field. After the harvest, the farmer pays into a fund that helps the next farmer. This is a gift. It is not an investment and it is not tax-deductible. If we each give a little, one family plants on time this year."

What your group should know first

  • Sponsorships are gifts. They are not investments and they are not tax-deductible.
  • 92% goes to the farmer's local seed and fertilizer shop. 8% covers field verification visits and receipt documentation.
  • Farming carries risk. A harvest can fail because of drought, floods, or pests.
  • We are a young organization. Before your group decides, read 7 questions to ask before you give, with our answers.
