This digital platform maps critical soil health metrics, including mycorrhizae density, beneficial bacteria presence, and pathogen pressure. It also analyzes nitrogen fixation, which contributes 19.6 kg/ha of natural fertilizer, and assesses carbon sequestration potential at 0.47 tons/ha/year.
Impact on Soil and Efficiency
The data indicates that Mozambican soil microbes can facilitate a 21.5% reduction in chemical fertilizer application. This efficiency saves approximately $17 per hectare annually. If implemented at a national scale, these findings suggest a potential savings of $76 million per year on agricultural chemical expenditures.
