Support smallholder farmers

Support a smallholder farmer directly, not through a black box.

Smallholder farmers grow most of the food in Africa, yet most never get good seed or fertilizer. Here you fund one named farmer’s inputs in Mozambique, at their own village seed shop, and see where every dollar went.

  • Mozambican farms use about 6 kg of fertilizer per hectare against a world average near 73 kg: inputs are the bottleneck.
  • Your gift buys certified seed and fertilizer at a local agro-dealer, which also keeps the village economy going.
  • Every sponsorship is visible on the live dashboard, step by step.

How it works

1. Choose a farmer

Pick a real farmer by name, crop and province. Verified farmers are visited in the field.

2. Your gift goes to the seed shop

From $25. We pay the farmer’s local agro-dealer for seed, fertilizer and tools. Never cash.

3. You get the receipt

The shop receipt, a photo of the seed in the ground and a harvest update, by email and on the live dashboard.

4. It is paid forward

After harvest the farmer pays the season into a community fund that sponsors the next farmer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to support smallholder farmers?

Give them what limits their harvest, usually good seed and fertilizer, through a channel you can check. Maputo Bridge Capital pays the farmer’s local seed shop and shares the receipt.

Why not give cash?

Paying the seed shop keeps the gift on the farm, supports local agro-dealers and gives you a receipt as proof.

Can I support a cooperative or group of farmers?

Yes. Churches, schools and companies sponsor farmer blocks of 5, 25 or 100 farmers on the partners page.

How do I know it worked?

You receive the receipt, a planting photo and a harvest update, and the live dashboard shows each sponsorship moving from payment to harvest.

Where are the farmers?

In Mozambique, across all ten provinces; most verified farmers are in Zambézia.

Gifts, not investments. 92% goes to the farmer’s local seed shop; 8% covers field verification.
