$25 plants a farmer's season in Zambézia.
Paid straight to the local seed shop. You get the receipt, a field photo and a harvest update.
For a smallholder farmer in Zambezia, these technologies help ensure their crop cycle is documented and verified. During the season, satellite data monitors plant health, while on-the-ground agents provide updates on crop stages like flowering or weeding. After the harvest, the farmer repays their support into a Community Fund, which is used to sponsor the next farmer in the cooperative, creating a self-sustaining cycle of support.

Frequently asked questions
What is NDVI?
NDVI stands for Normalized Difference Vegetation Index. It is a simple graphical indicator that can be used to analyze remote sensing measurements to assess whether the target being observed contains live green vegetation.
How does Sentinel-2 contribute to agriculture?
Sentinel-2 provides high-resolution multispectral imagery every five days, allowing for the monitoring of crop health and vegetation density over time.
What is the role of the M-Pesa API?
In this context, the API is used for the documentation of transactions and community repayments, facilitating a digital record of financial movement within the cooperative ecosystem.
Part 2 covers ESG scores, API endpoints, notifications, security, and development roadmap.
Maputo Bridge Capital, founded by Anselmo Boaventura in Fort Worth, Texas, connects sponsors with verified smallholder farmers like those in the COJAZ cooperative in Zambezia. You can sponsor a farmer from $25; please note that these sponsorships are gifts to support farmers and are not investments, and they are not tax-deductible.
