44 Farmers. 500 Hectares. Zero Road Blocks: How Quantum Optimization Found COJAZ's Path to $547,500
September 19, 2026 — Muaquiua, Zambézia, Mozambique
The Problem
COJAZ (Cooperativa dos Jovens Agropecuários da Zambézia) has 44 real farmers, 500 hectares of land at GPS -16.70389, 37.37083, and zero capital. Traditional funding paths — DFIs, grants, VC — are road blocks: applications, approvals, 120-180 day waits, and institutional gatekeepers.
The Quantum Solution
We ran a QAOA (Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm) simulation evaluating all 16 possible funding sources across 128 combinations. The algorithm scored each path on revenue potential, time to capital, road blocks, DUAT dependency, and recurring vs. one-time revenue.
The quantum algorithm found that two paths have zero road blocks and can generate $37,500 in Year 1 without any investor, application, or approval.
Path 1: Carbon Credits — $547,500 Over 10 Years
500 hectares of agroforestry at Muaquiua, Zambézia. Trees planted alongside crops absorb CO2. The satellite (Sentinel-2) verifies the trees are growing via NDVI imagery every 5 days at 10-meter resolution. Companies buy carbon credits directly from MBC's platform. M-Pesa pays the farmers.
The math:
- Year 1-3: 3 tons CO2/hectare/year × 500ha = 1,500 tons × $15/ton = $22,500/year
- Year 4-7: 7 tons × 500ha = 3,500 tons × $15 = $52,500/year
- Year 8-10: 12 tons × 500ha = 6,000 tons × $15 = $90,000/year
- 10-year total: 36,500 tons CO2 = $547,500
Per farmer (44 members): Year 1 = $511/year, Year 5 = $1,193/year, Year 10 = $2,045/year.
Zero road blocks:
- No DUAT needed (satellite sees trees, not land titles)
- No investor needed (companies buy carbon directly)
- No application needed (MBC platform IS the marketplace)
- No approval needed (voluntary carbon market)
- Revenue is recurring (trees grow every year)
Path 2: Forward Contracts — $15,000 Upfront Capital
44 COJAZ farmers are planting on November 1, 2026. Harvest is March 15, 2027. Instead of waiting for harvest to sell, they pre-sell their harvest now at a discount to spot price.
Listings created on MBC Commodity Exchange:
- 6,000kg maize at 28 MZN/kg (spot: 32) — delivery March 2027
- 2,000kg rice at 40 MZN/kg (spot: 45) — delivery March 2027
- 2,000kg beans at 50 MZN/kg (spot: 58) — delivery March 2027
Buyers pay upfront via M-Pesa. Farmers get capital for seeds and inputs NOW. Buyer gets grain at a discount. MBC earns 2% fee. No bank. No interest. No investor.
The Quantum Insight
Apollo Agriculture raised $88M and burns capital on operations. MBC generates $37,500+ in Year 1 with zero road blocks.
Apollo needs investors to survive. MBC does not.
MBC has assets Apollo does NOT have:
- Carbon credits ($547,500 over 10 years) — zero road blocks
- Forward contracts (pre-sell harvest) — zero road blocks
- Platform with Stripe LIVE
- 500 hectares with GPS — satellite-verifiable right now
- 44 real farmers with names and M-Pesa numbers
- A lawyer (Anselmo Boaventura) who can structure Reg D offerings
MBC is not a company that needs funding. MBC is a company that GENERATES funding through its own assets.

Conclusion
The quantum algorithm evaluated 128 combinations of 16 funding sources. The optimal answer was simple:
Plant trees. Pre-sell harvest. The satellite sees the trees. The blockchain logs them. Companies buy the carbon. Buyers pre-pay for grain. M-Pesa pays the farmers.
$547,500 over 10 years. Zero road blocks. No investor needed. No application. No approval.
MBC does not chase funding. MBC generates it.
